Plain Wedding Bands
Plain Wedding Bands are the "golden" standard and the most common choice men getting married. Styles appear similar but there are some unique differences in design features and comfort.
First of all is the Basic Style shape. These include:

A good rule is to stack US Nickels to estimate the preferred width. A US Nickel is about 2mm (1.94mm thick on average). By stacking side to side and comparing the edge view to your finger you can determine the preferred ring width you would like:Third is the design of the inside of the ring:
The fourth is the thickness of the band:
This is determined by measuring the band in the thickest part from inside to outside (often this is the center of the band):The fifth is Ring size:
The ring size of a comfort fit band is identical to a non comfort fit. Most errors are made in measuring a comfort fit band on a tapered mandrel. Before the comfort feature was designed in to rings, the size could be determined by looking at the edge of the band. The size was determined by looking where it contacted the mandrel first. With comfort fit, the bands actual size is the narrowest part of the inside of the band. This can be any where from slight off the edge to the center of the band - depending on design and shape. Please also keep in mind that because of the taper on the inside of the band there may be less resistance in removing the band. The exact same size will feel slightly tighter due to the extra width in finger compression from the wider band. Weather and temperatures throughout the year also affect your size.The Sixth is Diamonds and Gemstones:

"The rings we chose required customisation. The customisation was a wider band which meant the braid then looked much smaller in reality than the photos on the website. Overall we are pleased with the result but not entirely over the moon with the whole experience.
The final result did not have a wider braid to ensure proportionality of appearance was maintained.
Requests for confirmation of what the customisations were to ensure our order was accurately manufactured was met with a when complete we will confirm the customisations. If undertaken incorrectly it would have been too late to change.
Possibly a more proactive order confirmation earlier in the process could be more useful.
